    Ian Markolf

according to the article by chris williams in the tribune, tyler zellar is our main priority for the 2008 center position. does anybody know if we are recruiting ian markolf a 7 foot 213 center from san antontio texas. i dont have any idea if hes gotten any offers from anybody or if hes that much of a target for us. but i think id be cool to have a 7 foot center. here is a link to his profile http://iowastate.rivals.com/viewpros...2&pr_key=42386

    Re: Ian Markolf

He's 3 star but only 213 pounds which is basically lighter than Jiri and 1 inch shorter. I'd love to finally just get a big guy that could tip the scales a little in the 230-250 pound range for a change and bang down low.

Our last 2 7 footers were not so great: Skogs and Chris Allexander.

    Re: Ian Markolf

Yeah, most of the "elite" 7 footers get snatched up by the top programs. Which leaves everyone else with projects...

True, but ISU has not yet made Corbin Moore an offer. He may receive an offer if we lose one of the top three. Unfortunately, I don't think Negedu or Zeller will be making a decision any time soon. I honestly don't think ISU's chances are very good with either of them. I think Negedu will end up at Arizona. It's hard to say what Zeller will do. I know the staff has cultivated a real nice relationship with Zeller and his family but will that be enough to land him?
