The next time some recruiting geek corners you to blab about the star rating of a prospect he says your team must have to succeed, counter with the story of Iowa State freshman Wesley Johnson.
He didn't play organized basketball last season. And at 6-foot-7 and 195 pounds, he's built more like a No. 2 pencil than a power forward.
Yet somehow Johnson has nine double-doubles in 17 games this season - second in the Big 12 only to Texas superstar Kevin Durant's 10 - and is second in the league in rebounding to Durant at 9.0 a game. . . .
