    player efficiency ratings

I'm not sure if I'll be opening a can of worms by posting this or not, but for the NBA (and I know this is a completely different beats but hear me out), many analysts have efficiency ratings per players to rate how they contribute to the team on a per game basis. One I came across and thought I'd run it on the cyclone players goes as following ((pts +rbs+asts+stls+blks) - (fg atts - fg's made) - (fts atts - fts made) - TO's) = Eff. I figured this out for each of ISU's players and then broke it down by a minute played basis to see which one's were the most efficient per minute played (again based on NBA speculators). DISCLAIMER: I'm not claiming these to be end all be all stats (I believe that some of these numbers might be skewed a little due to garbage time and other factors like who's guarding you or vice versa). I just thought I'd post this for a discussion point.

    Player ------- Efficiency ----- Eff/min

    Brackins ----- 19.875 ------ 0.6115
    DG -----------10.006------- 0.3041
    Staiger ---------6.056------- 0.2523
    Peterson -------9.188------- 0.3052
    JVB -------------7.163-------0.4743
    Ham------------ 5.8 ---------0.4234
    Eikmeier --------2.213------ 0.1958
    Boozer ---------3.525-------0.4299
    haluska --------2.706 -------0.1724
    Thompson -----4.5---------- 0.3191
    Buckley --------1.563 -------0.2367
    Mann ----------0.85--------- 0.3542
    Lee ------------1.081--------0.3379

Note, this is for the whole year (not just conference play) and I took the stats directly off Cyclones.com for the equation.

Something to note is that the NBA's highest Eff ranking is Lebron at 30.9 (and rankings range all the way down to negative numbers).
