    590...Perrault's final show

From 2-6 today will be Matt Perrault's final show on Big Sports 590 in Omaha. If you guys in Des Moines and Ames can pick it up you should. Hopefully he stays in the neighborhood and can catch on at KXNO. Tomorrow will be a sad day in Omaha sports talk radio.

I don't see a 'live streaming' button on their website

I would love to have him at KXNO. When I could get 590 in Des Moines I thought his Big 12 coverage was better than any of our local shows.

    Re: 590...Perrault's final show

Matt gave more info than any local sportscaster that I have listened to. He used very few fillers about the homelife like we hear from some other personalities. He was more of a Colin Cowherd and not Tony Cornheiser.

If Matt had a job offer from a top 20 market on the West Coast, it would be a step backwards in Matt's radio career to move from the Omaha market to a smaller Des Moines market.

Edit: That said, Matt does know the Big 12 & Valley conference's inside out and has established alot of soild connections in both conferences that would make for a good sports show. But could you guys handle another New England native doing sports radio in Des Moines?

I doubt he'll sit around waiting for another west coast opportunity in this economy. This would be a step up from Omaha. And I don't think it was an offer, he was a finalist for it.

I remember when he use to have McCarney and Ferentz on weekly during the football season, he did a nice job with both of them.

    Re: 590...Perrault's final show

I've listened to Matt from time-to-time while I was in the Omaha area on business, but really didn't know much about him. Just reading his blog, there certainly appears to be a certain amount of humility in him, which is refreshing. Quite a contrast in what we recently went through in talk radio in Des Moines, don't ya think?

    Re: 590...Perrault's final show

Travis Justice just hinted that Matt may be coming to DSM. I haven't been listening to the whole show today but it sounded like a wink wink nod nod thing. I think TJ said "Head east young man, stop every 2 hours and you might find a place to work, ha ha."

KXNO or the Champ? My guess KXNO afternoons

I am still confused about this....590 stretched over 5 or 6 states...

I think the Des Moines market would be a step down from Omaha, but since he is without a job (as far as we all know) I'm sure he'd at least be interested in DSM. I hope he does come to DSM. He does a nice job of mixing the local and national sports stories and he does get some good guests.

They do have a huge signal strength. I think you can hear them in Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota, and South Dakota.
