What have you had to be happy about in this program since you have been alive? Sure, there have been wins here and there, but conference championships? BCS bowls? That would make me happy. The "we're gonna hit you coming off of the bus" talk is nice, but the "wristbands are something 5th & 6th graders do" is a little underwhelming.

Because we have been soo close to BCS bowls. Maybe lower your expectations for a few years. Are you going to complain about the no sweat pants rule too? I guess I don't understand why people have to criticize a coach for placing rules and setting up whos really in charge. I mean the season hasn't even started and you have had a red flag in the way PR does things.

And seriously, I'm all for criticism of PR when he makes a mistake, but you do realize that you're criticizing him for not allowing players to wear wristbands, right? Seriously. Criticize the guy if he does a crappy job recruiting, does something over the line, or makes a poor gameday decision. That's all well and good. But wristbands? Seriously?!?!

Wristbands are so juvenile. It is like the new qb tackling rules in the NFL. No crawlees need apply.

The hard copy also reconfirmed that Cameron Bell was done and gone.

Didn't make it past three-a-days? Come on now!
But I didn't really like the whole visor thing, sweatbands I didn't mind. I was guilty of wearing the thin bands a few games, especially when i was a freshman/sophomore.

The criticism is over sweating the small stuff, and you guys are the ones blowing that criticism out of proportion. All I said is that I wished the main takeaway from the first day was on fundamentals, not how extensively PR is going to micro-manage this team. The red flag I raised is that micro-managers are no good at strategy - and I would value that a lot more.

    Re: World-Herald ISU Article

the wristband ban is a great thing as someone said early it gets the attention off of ME and gets in on WE. wrist bands do nothing to help you on the field so why wear them? the only thing it does is set you a part from the team and say "look at me im cool i like to wear thingys on my arms so I look like a star" until they start plaing like stars there is no need to wear crap that makes you feel like you look cool. I am all for PR and I am excited for the future of this program under him, I feel like he will do all in his power to make us sucessful and not use us as a stepping stone to the next big thing, he wants to make US the next big thing.

Call the writer and tell him you want better info. If this is what they pulled from it, its their fault, not PR's.

Out of curiousity, were you at practice?
