    Miami Regional...

It says in this article for the Friday night session they had 8900 in attendance. Friday day session got 10,163...

A Des Moines Regional could easily get this couldn't it?

If the slappies hadn't built WFA short of NCAA capacity guidelines for MBB and wrestling, yes.

“One day we’ll be in here celebrating a Big 12 championship,” Rhoads said. “That I can promise you.”

"I hope to coach here until I retire," Hoiberg said.

I have never understood this claim. Boise just had a one and there place seats less than 13K

Taco Bell Arena - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Maybe not enough hotels or the fact that there are many other city very close with larger arenas and more hotels.

I would guess Des Moines gets a regional pretty soon, the arena only needs to hold 12k and the Des Moines regional had the highest womens attendence last year

    Re: Miami Regional...

The question was about a regional (even though I suspect the OP meant 1st/2nd round).

DSM might be able to get a MBB 1st/2nd round.

I think that Boise keeps getting one because they need the sites spread out across the country to make the start times easier (for CBS).

    Probably 20k for the Bizin

    15k for the rest

EDIT: Official Attendence for the Bison/Jayhawks Matchup says 15,794, so probably 11-12 for the rest of the games. I misoverestimated.

    Re: Miami Regional...

I think it would be great for DSM to get some tournament games. I question whether it will ever happen with other nearby locations competing for Midwest regional games (KC, MPLS, etc).

No kidding...this would never happen. Crappy venue and crappy city for out-of-towners (limited hotels and flight options).

I was talking to people at the games in MPLS last Friday who were worried about what they were going to do here all weekend. Dear god...what would people say about Cedar Falls?

Not gonna happen. Not enough hotel rooms and no major airport nearby. Not to mention, not really much to do.

I was just wondering how many seats it would have. The Well is definitely big enough. The Minneapolis Regional that I went to could have been played in Des Moines with the turnout there.

At the State Tournament I noticed that Wells Fargo Arena has a large amount of handicapped seating. Yes, I know its necessary.. (dont label me a handicapped hater) but I think half of those spots could be removed to put in 3x as many seats as those handicapped sections hold. There are also a lot of other areas of virtual dead space that could be filled with seats. Seats could be tacked in a lot of spots in Wells Fargo Arena to up the capacity 500-1000 which is what we need.

    Re: Miami Regional...

You do realize that the Iowa State men would never get to play in Des Moines, even as a #1 seed, right (unless by some stroke of miracle they can actually get Drake to be the host, but that wasn't the case with the women last year)?

Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice?
Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this.
