    Dynamic thinking or is it?

Big think tank people come up to another solution for sustainability.

UK population must fall to 30m, says Porritt - Times Online

“Each person in Britain has far more impact on the environment than those in developing countries so cutting our population is one way to reduce that impact.”

Wonder which methods they would like to use to achieve this?

    Sterilizations?

    Abortions?

    Eugenics?

Perhaps they will just hope that a plague comes along?

probably financial incentives to people that only have 0-2 children. If everyone is only replacing themselves and not having 6 kids then it won't take long for population to drop as more die than are born.

Western countries (the US included) haven't averaged enough children to sustain the population anyway. It's happening already, I guess just not fast enough for that guy.

One of the easy ways to be more green is to stop the throw away society. The problem is, when is the last time you saw a new repair business open for something besides cars or computers?

What - are you saying we need more soldiers coming home from war and causing another baby boom?

I'd love to see that chart with legal residents only. That likely would not dispute his claim.
