Chizik continues to stay under the radar...

With all the hype of the all knowing recruiting sites and special reports, ISU Coach Chizik continues to fly under their radar. I believe that has been his plan from the start..to fill holes with JC players and go after freshman recruits quietly to build for the future. Apparently there were anywhere from 8-15 recruits at the hoops game this weekend (depending on whose account is accurate) and few of those names has appeared on any of the commercial sites. That tells me they don't know who ISU is after and who visited campus. With all the coaching vacancies and unattached recruits, it won't take very many to make this a VERY successful year. I don't expect overnight success, but I am very optimistic we have the right guy.
Anyone know a definative number on how many football recruits were at the game?

I was trying to find the thread from before but a cyclone blog site that I think isufan22 posted here had a list of 7 names I believe that were at the game.
Hopefully whoever posted that can come back and post that again.

    Edit: found the link:

Re: Chizik continues to stay under the radar...

Three were already committed, however, the game may have been helpful in securing Bates and Green.

*Edit* Rivals is reporting that Allen Bell cancelled his visit, so I wonder if he was there, that article is older than the isuisu article...

The one on that list that entices me is OL Kelechi Osemele, a three-star OT that currently has a soft committment to UTEP.

Signing a fourth new OL (making three three-star and one two-star) is probably the biggest (and best) thing Chizik could to to set us up for a decent season next year.

Why didn't someone just take a digital basketball picture of Gene with the 8-15 people sitting around him. We could post their mug shots die site members to identify and then we would know who visited.

one thing about FB recruits that I remember from our little sisters to the East was the BB game in 2004. They had their recruits in the front row, showed off their Cy-Hawk Trophy and Big11Ten trophy... every UofI fan was chanting... "Go to Iowa" clap clap... clap clap clap. Then repeated...

    Impressive.

Chizik will surprise the ISU faithful on this years sign-ees.

    - keep.
