Wow. Poor Marty. Between Kaeding blowing it again and that fumble after the pick he can't get a break.

    Re: Nate chokes again.

I knew he was going to miss that from the moment it went off the ground.

This is what happens when you place any hope/trust in the hands/leg of a Hawkeye.

Hasn't missed at home since the last devastating playoff miss 2 years ago. Feel bad for him. Kinda like Shaggy....on a much different level.

I wish Kaeding could have missed against us a few times...

54 yarders are tough and all...but I like the sounds of "former Hawkeye costs San Diego shot at Super Bowl." Hee hee.

I bet Dobbins really hates the Hawkeyes now, haha.

    Re: Nate chokes again.

Being asked to kick a 54 yarder in that situation in the NFL is tough, unless your name is Adam Venatiari.

I'd change the title of this thread to 'Marty Chokes Again' after a stupid decision to throw the red flag and cost his team a timeout they could have used at the end.

    Re: Nate chokes again.

54 yards is tough to call a choke but glad to see one less Hawk playing next week. Maybe Hobbs can take a shot at Dallas Clark next week?!

No, that would be more like "San Diego puts trust in former Hawkeye." You'd have to read several paragraphs into the article to figure out he missed.

    Re: Nate chokes again.

Vinatieri doesn't really have the leg anymore for a 54 yarder. Kris Brown of Seattle seems to be the king of game winning 54 yarders.

    Re: Nate chokes again.

Not many people could make a 54 yarder to tie the game in that situation.

They had 8 seconds left...enough time to throw a quick 5 yard out to give Kaeding a better shot at the FG.

I had the same thought, why not try to get closer?

It would be to much of a risk....with no time outs left, if the receiver would have been tackled in bounds or of the QB gets sacked, San Diego would of ran out of time and not given the chance for a field goal.
