with a lot of news from B-Ball program today, anything new with Brackins

i hope he stays and if he does, I fully expect ISU be back in the NCAA tournament in 2010........

2010 season will be so similar to the 2000 season

Why? Are we going to be expected to finish dead last in the Big XII next season?

Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice?
Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this.

    Curious if anyone knows....

-Can basketball players have an agent act as an advisor without signing in to an agreement (similar to baseball)?
-Do coaches compile a list of reputable and quality agents to refer? Beleive it or not there are SOME good agents, even in basketball, which has far more bad ones than good...

I think it's a no-brainer that he should at least put his hat in the ring and see what develops. I hope for our sake that he comes back another year, and for his sake that the extra year makes him a lottery pick.

I believe the answer is no.

I believe the process is to declare for the draft and declare that I will not sign with an agent (Deadline of April 27?). The advisory position is served by the NBA. The potential draftee goes to pre-draft workouts (which declaring for the draft allows you to do), during which part is talking to NBA scouts. Between talks with scouts and the NBA "super-scout" (used to be Marty Blake, might still be so), the player is given an idea of where it might be possible he might be drafted. After the workouts, the player has until sometime in June to withdraw from the draft.

Generally, projected lottery picks will stay, second half of first round is iffy (first rounders get guaranteed contract, so some take the chance), and a second round evaluation should go back to school (second round contract is not guaranteed).
