Colvin vs Isaiah Thomas (no not the NBA one)

Last year, Isaiah Thomas was a 4* recruit, the #14 ranked PG by rivals and the #92 player overall. He went to the Washington Huskies and this year averaged 15.2 ppg, 2.6 apg, and 3.1 rpg.

This year, Chris Colvin is a 4* recruit, the #15 ranked PG by rivals and is also the #92 player overall. Eerie similarities, could Colvin have a similar impact on our team? it obviously wont be that big, but still

I don't believe Isaiah Thomas had 2 point guards before him...

i like colvin as a prospect way better, just because of his height, thomas is only like 5 foot 10

It doesn't matter how many PGs are ahead of him. If he is good enough to perform that well right away, he will play.

Re: Colvin vs Isaiah Thomas (no not the NBA one)

Thomas plays in a better offensive system than Colvin will see here. Washington runs and guns and naturally everyones stats will be higher than normal. I see Colvin averaging about 4-5 PPG next year and 2-3 assists to go along with 13 minutes per contest.

I'd LOVE for him to get the system right away and be handed the keys to the starting PG spot but I doubt it. It takes a special player to come in and have an immediate impact as a point guard. Colvin has much more potential than DG but he needs time.

Re: Colvin vs Isaiah Thomas (no not the NBA one)

Since Thomas was the 14th PG and he got 15 points a game, its a lock for Colvin to get 14 points a game since he is the 15th PG. It makes perfect sense

Re: Colvin vs Isaiah Thomas (no not the NBA one)

IMO, the player that Colvin's game is similar to is Jeff Teague, though obviuosly teague is much better right now. They're both 6'3" slashers that don't shoot it much from outside, but when they do, they're pretty accurate. Teague is more of a shoot first than Colvin though.

first off i never said it was "a lock" for Colvin to get that. i just thought it was kind of an interesting coincidence that they were both #92 over at essentially the same ranked PG.....

Just a thought, but I wonder if Thomas was hurt in recruiting by his size. In other words, maybe his skill set was much better than #92 in his class. Is it possible that if he had been 6' 3" that he would have been rated much higher.

Re: Colvin vs Isaiah Thomas (no not the NBA one)

This is probably the dumbest thread ever. You've got two guys who play the same position ranked the same year over year, so they are going to be the same?? LOL!

This is one of the reasons why all of you are so dissapointed year over year. You expect our guys to be better than what they are and when they aren't, you blame it on the coach...

wow.... some of you obviously dont get this original post. no where do i say i expect him to be as good or produce right away like Isaiah Thomas. I just thought it was a fun coincidence that they were so similarly rated so i just decided to share that for fun.
