    Should Marty Tirrell be fired?

In light of recent comments made by Marty Tirrell this last year, is it time for Joel McRae to pull the plug?

No but I do think he's on very thin ice. Next questionable incident and he'll be gone.

I don't want to hear how the Harrison Barnes to prep school is one of the "punishable" comments against him because it's not.

First the press pass and now the Cotlar problem. He talks about his issues with Larry on the show, it's not good to throw a co-worker under the bus like that.

Ask yourself: If you were in a public place representing your employer and said what he said, would you still have a job?

    Define public.

The plant manager where I work had a one-sided confrontation with one of my co-workers during our start-of-shift meeting. I haven't seen any consequences for him, except that he jokes about it when he visits our meetings.

I don't think he should be fired, but I wonder why people would still listen to him. If they quit, the market will take care of him for us.

Re: Should Marty Tirrell be fired?

IMO there is a conspiracy to get him fired at KXNO. I think Geoff Conn was running the controls yesterday and "forgot" that one of the mics was on. It seems like when you listen to the clip on WHOraw that you join the argument already in progress. Perhaps Conn saw it develop and "accidently" turned one of the mics on to capture it. That wouldn't surprise me one bit. Especially considering Marty has taken his fair shots at the morning show and the beautiful Karen Kay. Maybe this was redemption. :)

I know I'm sitting myself up here but I haven't been following this story much, what has he all done to be fired besides the swearing episode yesterday?

I agree since you couldn't hear it right away during the commercials, we came into it about half way into the argument. Someone should ask Conn how that happened, Cotlar could have turned on his too.

JMO - No way Marty should be fired. Like him or not, he's the only entertaining personality on that station. He said exactly what I think about Cotlar every morning for the 2.5 seconds I hear his drivel before I turn the channel. Cotlar is an idiot and I'm glad Marty called him out. I also think there may be something to the conspiracy theory that drive4cy posted. It'll be interesting to see how this all shakes out.

I think that's a bit harsh. Cotlar's show may be terrible, and he may not ever express any opinions at all, but I doubt the man got to where he is because he's an idiot.

There is a reason that his show starts at 6 AM, however.
