IE 8 Released: Here Is A Review

I will install it...but I probably will never use it more than once month...at MOST! I prefer Firefox. Anyway, here is the review:

I tried downloading it about a week ago, it was the worst mistake I've have ever made.

I wish downloading a bad web browser would be the worst mistake I have ever made LOL! That said...I have low expectations for IE8!

I've been using the Beta version for awhile and it's been buggy. I do like the live maps thing though where you can highlight an address on a website and right click on it to map. I'll have to go home and get the final release to see if it runs any better and fixes any of the "bugs" the beta had.

Not just bugs - but incompatibilities with websites... websites that were designed to work well with IE7.

Re: IE 8 Released: Here Is A Review

I have found no compelling reason to use IE8. I tried the beta, and unless it's made GIGANTIC strides since then, it's the worst web browser I have used in recent memory.

I tried the beta version last fall for 2 days - disaster! Very very quirky. Dont rush on this one.

Anyone here use Google Chrome? I have come to really like it. It has some issues with certain websites, but has been very speedy for me.

Re: IE 8 Released: Here Is A Review

The final release is much more stable than the betas (as you would expect). The problem I have is all of these browsers (IE, Firefox) are getting way too bloated because they want to add more and more features that you don't use. I just want a small browser. I can go to google myself to start a search. I don't need seach bars and optimizers.

Chrome is ok, but without adblock it's tough for me to use it on a regular basis.

I know they are working on a better plugin architecture for the next release.

My problem with Chrome was that there are too many videos and audio that won't play in Chrome.

Agreed the final version is much different than the betas. No issues.

Also if you want a stripped down browser both FF and IE8 can be run in minimal mode.

Re: IE 8 Released: Here Is A Review

No offense but I have had enough of Microsoft trying to control my computer and do not care for Google's Chrome tracking my every keystroke so they can aim pointed advertising at me. Firefox is small, safe, and stable. Yes, I use the bare bones version of Firefox and stay away from the add-ons.
