    NIACC Program Saved?

Well it looks like some people with money don't want the football program canned.

CollegeFootballTalk.com - NFL PLAYERS SAVE JUNIOR COLLEGE PROGRAM

I always like it when pro athletes get recognized for something other then being *****, drunk driving, and beating their wives. Here is hoping the school takes the charity for their players sake.

That's pretty amazing that guys that have no connection to the school are donating money. I've always like AP and he continues to impress.

The article said AP had ties to the coach from high school. But still, very cool.

    Adrain Peterson to the rescue?!?!?!

This is kinda cool! I live up in the Mason City/North Iowa area, and recently NIACC was reported to be dropping the football program due to budget reasons.

It sounds like AD has ties to a current assitant coach in the program. This could give them enough time to find other ways to fund the football program @ NIACC. Here's the link :GlobeGazette.com :: Vikes star Peterson to save NIACC football?

Kind of a neat deal with all the other "bailout" talks lately!

I emailed the Globe Gazette link to Deadspin.com. Let's see if they post something. This is a nice story. Maybe it will get some national attention.

    Re: NIACC Program Saved?

Nice - now let's see if the AD handles it better than BVDV handled the saving donations for our baseball program...

    looks like it worked.

Deadspin picked it up. Now we'll see if ESPN picks it up from there.

    Latest Update:

NIACC Coach and administrators met today. Coach asked NIACC for an exact $ amount to forward to AP. Based on that, a plan will be presented next week.
