    Nicky Wieben

The Register has a nice article on Nicky - it looks at her team success over eight years of highschool and college ball. I remember someone posting years ago that Voss was a large part of the Ankeny teams. Perhaps so, but, we certainly got the best of that team. She has not had an easy road and has earned every accolade. She has certainly been a huge component of our success to this point and her play will largely shape our future this weekend.

Very nice article by the Rag! Does she have a chance to continue to play basketball after her ISU career? Is she WNBA material? Europe maybe?

I have a feeling she will end up in Europe.

No way does she even get a sniff in the WNBA...

Angie Welle was 10x better and barely got looked at.

I got the impression Welle wasn't all that interested in a pro basketball career. Regardless, the WNBA is even more competitive now than it was back then. Wieben may have to go overseas to build up her game before the WNBA will take a closer look at her. Her abilities are coming back, but she still has a maddening lack of consistency that I'm sure bothers her as well. Before the ACL tear she was a consistently good player, and I think some work overseas might help her continued rehab.

That said, she might get a training camp invite after the season is over, but making a roster is very difficult. Some team with a post depth issue might consider taking a look.

If I remember correctly Welle was drafted by Cleveland and decided to use her Education degree and teach in the Cleveland area instead...

Welle did get drafted by Cleveland, but she was cut during camp and went back to Fargo, SD to become a teacher, were she still is today.

    Poor attempt . . .

He quote says SHE not it. So the poster was clearly referring to Welle.

Fargo is in NORTH Dakota. Sorry for the confusion?

I know it's nitpicky. But it really pisses me off when announcers say Iowa State Hawkeyes or Iowa Cyclones (I've heard both numerous times) and this is similar, to me.

Sorry to drag you into my personal o/c world.
