    Former football letterwinners

I started looking at the list of former letterwinners in the football media guide and it is fun to see a lot of names that I had forgotten about.
Anyway, I came across a name and I can't believe I didn't know this before today. Nile Kinnick, Sr. lettered at Iowa State in 1913 and 1914.
How the hell did we let his kid go to Iowa??

Well, now that the original poster has been thoroughly corrected...

While I can't say that I am fond of the institution that he attended, Nile Kinnick, Jr. did give one of the best Heisman Trophy reception speeches of all time. He was a man of very high character and someone that we would all do well to learn a thing or two from. Look up his speech--I promise you won't regret it.
