Who would you rather start? Dunson or McIntosh.

I just dont see how we can keep Dunson on the bench too much longer. Good things happen when Dodie is in the game. He might not be a better ball handler than Corey, but do we really need a great handler when Taylor brings the ball up 75% of the time?
Im not hating on Corey, but Dodie offers a lot more. He's a better scorer by far, and he has a good shot. Corey almost refuses to shoot, even when he's wide open.
The nice thing about Dodie not starting is that he gives us a bunch of bench points, but if hes a better player he should be out there more.

Agreed...Angie and I had that conversation on the way home. Dodie is playing great...and while Corey is solid, he's just not doing the things that Dunson is. I would start Dodie in the next game and see how it goes. He very well may be the type of player that plays best coming off the bench...but I think he should get his chance in the starting 5.

Hey I like Dodie too, but you have to have a good ball handler in the game or you lose due to turn overs.

Anybody remember J.C. Holliway from the Tim Floyd era? The guy had to be the lowest point producer of the team, but he never never turned it over. That's why Coach Floyd played him and that's one of reasons we won games back then.

With the effort and toughness Gmac has these guys playing with right now, I'm not going to doubt him one bit. He sees the guys every day in practice and knows what's going on.

Dodie had proven to me he deserves a shot. Let Mike bring it up, let Dodie get open and shoot.

Re: Who would you rather start? Dunson or McIntosh.

I don't necessary think he needs to start.

But I question the decision in overtime with the game on the line to play a guy with zero points and basically no offensive skills while your team is in need to score points, when you have a another guy who is 3 for 3 behind the arc, shoots 94% from the free throw line, and has brought you back already in a couple games in his short career. That is a coaching error in my opinion. I love Greg, but he too makes error and made one today.

Re: Who would you rather start? Dunson or McIntosh.

The thing to be remembered is that CM has more experience than Dunson, and it is a lot to put on the shoulders of a freshman guard in the Big 12 to do more than come off the bench and play 28 minutes. I think the current situation takes a lot of the pressure off and lets Dunson grow into a bigger role, plus he gives us that great spark off the bench when he comes in.

Re: Who would you rather start? Dunson or McIntosh.

I think it depends on what you want Taylor to do. If he is going to play the point, or even bring the ball up the floor, then their is no reason to have McIntosh in the game. If we want to free Taylor up and have him play the 2 then you need him in because Dodie hasn't shown the ability to handle the ball and doesn't appear to be comforable at it.

I agree. Dodie should have played the entire overtime period.

Re: Who would you rather start? Dunson or McIntosh.

Both fill a role very well. Corey isn't flashy, yet is consistent and smart. Dodie seems to just make shots when we need him. Personally I'd hesitate to change something if it's not working - as Dodie thrives off the bench.

And does anyone remember Corey completely picking the pocket of a Kansas player for a steal? I was in awe of the play.

Hmmm. I think I would let Coach McDermott decide.

Re: Who would you rather start? Dunson or McIntosh.

McCintosh seems way too timid to be a starter. His ball handling skills and passing are reasonable, but he never seems to pull up for the open J when he should. Dodie all the way!

Re: Who would you rather start? Dunson or McIntosh.

Might as well let Corey keep starting since a wise man once said "don't fix it if it aint broke." Plus he plays OK defense and isn't making that many mistakes.

Dodie reminds me of Tasheed Carr. Not really a PG, not really a SG but can make some plays. Unfortunitely, Carr was a 2 month wonder, Dodie looks like he's legit. After Dodie hit that 3 late in regulation I thought we would win. :(

as much as i love dodie, i think it is hard to start dodie, when we have been haviing success with cmac at the point, and dodie coming off the bench
