    Dorr vs Cougill...

...and McCabe. ISU versus Iowa, walkon vs scholarship recruit, with an underclassman wildcard. How do you think this matchup will turn out?

Is height going to make a big difference?

    Paul Rhoads' players never quit.
    (They just disappear offseason)

Don't know how it'll turn out, but I do hope that Dorr puts the coals to Cougill. Not only this year, but for the next 4 or 5.

Dorr has 3 fouls with just under 2 minutes left in the first quarter. Needless to say, he's not having a great game. It appears, to me, that McCabe is a better ball player than Cougill. He is far from impressive.

It's not too often you actually see one of these threads before the game is played. Kudos to you. Normally it's one of the infatuated, immature members that cannot wait to spout off how an ISU walk-on's TEAM beat a scholarship UofI athlete's TEAM in a ONE GAME. This is often regardless if the two players matched up 1:1 the majority of the game or not. A single game, in my opinion, is not a valid sample size. Some feel different.

In any event, it will be interesting to see how this does play out.

Cougil is impressive against Iowa High School talent. Don't think it will translate to D1 very well though. Especially at 6'9". Needs to grow a couple inches to play center. I know I wouldn't want him being eatin alive by Big XII post players.

Pretty early to be defensive.. even for an Iowa fan.

You are talking about Cougil, right? Call me crazy....but I don't think either growing or being eaten will be a problem.

He may be, but he is dominating my Warriors... You would think a team with three guys at 6'7" would be able to at least slow him down...

I agree. Just seems like a big bully out there. Things are going to be easy for you when you are at least 5 inches taller and weigh about 100 pounds more than the biggest player on the other team. I haven't seen him do any post moves. Pretty much just forcing his way to the hoop and banging it in. It just won't be that easy at the next level. His cocky attitude isn't really doing much for me, either...

None of the above mentioned players impressed me much.

Maybe I hate Cougil because I see a young Luke Harangody(sp) when I look at him.

McCabe looks like a good finisher. Dorr hasn't really been on the floor enough to really evaluate...

I was thinking the same thing... If he can develop the outside game he could be a Haranghody clone...

How many players with that size have a good outside game, though? Harangody's don't grow on trees.
