3 seed and no 1st teamers?

ISU is a 3 seed with no 1st teamers, thats just not right. And only one 2nd teamer, what are these people watching. ISU plays some of the best D in the league and can shot the ball better then most of the teams. It's just not right. We will show them in the Tourney!

Who would have been a first teamer. Not to knock this team at all, but I don't see any first teamers either. This team just has great chemistry and plays great D

Re: 3 seed and no 1st teamers?

The scoring and rebounding on our squad is so spread out that our girls don't rank as high individually in those departments. One night Nicky is our scoring leader, the next it's Bolte the next Ezell, we don't put all of our eggs in one basket, and that would be why we don't have a first teamer.
On any night any of our girls could be that first teamer.

Yeah, this isn't exactly a star-studded lineup that Bill put together for this year - this year's team IS the epitome of TEAM.

Have to agree here. Even BF has commented many times how difficult it is for his team to score consistently. They HAVE to defend to give themselves a chance to win games - and obviously they have done that.

Re: 3 seed and no 1st teamers?

We talked about it a little bit in the thread annoucing Ezell's 2nd team award. http://www.cyclonefanatic.com/forum/...l-big-xii.html

I think mred had a good point in that thread - ezell is #19 in the conference in scoring, and niz is #20 in rebounding....both leading our team. Plus, I don't know who I would take off that 1st team list. They are all very talented and deserving.

Plus with OU winning the National Championship this year, they're gonna have atleast two, first team All-Conference players.

Leela: Femputer, be reasonable. Sure men are annoying and they wreck up whatever planet they're in charge of, but most of these men are sorta my friends. They don't deserve to die.
Femputer: Hmm. Perhaps men are not as evil as Femputer thinks.
Thog: But they make fun women's basketball.
Femputer: What? Did you explain how the women's good fundamentals make up for their inability to dunk?
    Ornik: Yes. They still laugh.
    Femputer: The men must die.
Bender: Too true, Femputer. You're so wise. Kill 'em all, I say. Good riddance! Did I mention I'm not a man? I'm a manBOT. It's an understandable mistake. You can let me down now, thanks.
Kug: He big jerk like man.
Bender: I sure am. But check the crotch. [He bangs it.] Nothing.

Re: 3 seed and no 1st teamers?

I don't think Fennelly has had a player make the WNBA (some have been drafted or given a look, but, not a regular). ISU's success has come as a result of good fundamentals and team work and near 100% efficiency of the talent we have. We would be unbeatable with the talent most of the other ranked teams have, but, that talent comes at the price of character on which Fennelly will not compromise. I see hope of getting both in our recent recruits.

“We’ve got a pretty good football conference, and we’ve got a pretty good conference overall. We’re still walking around with our heads held high and our chest out, about that.” Paul Rhoads

Really? Pat Summitt and some other coaches might disagree.

    Paul Rhoads' players never quit.
    (They just disappear offseason)

I think at least Desiree' Francis and maybe Tracy Gahan would disagree with you...

No, Britanny Wilkins made the WNBA roster of Sacamento in 2006 and San Antonio in 2008.
Why she was a reserve for all but her senior year at ISU is still a mystery to me...
