Doing unbelievably well playing overseas in Bulgaria right now. Is the leading scorer on his team. Corey McIntosh

I am the biggest "what if" person. I'm always checking up on how former players are doing and wondering what if they had played that well in an ISU uniform. Hell, Stevie Johnson is a 20 and 10 guy overseas. He never scored that much at ISU

There's such a disparity in the level of competition in pro league's over in Europe...some of them have more talent than the NBDL and some of them are honestly about the same as playing the the Southland Conference from a talent standpoint (although the style of play is different).

    Re: Corey McIntosh

Cory started to really put together in his last few games in Ames. He would have stayed, but at the time he thought Taylor was kind of a jerk.

    Re: Corey McIntosh

Yeah, he wasn't the second coming of Jamall Tinsley or anything, but I'm sure he could have helped out last season.

And yeah....I remember McD saying that McIntosh transferred because he couldn't stand Taylor.

    Re: Corey McIntosh

anyone else remember the last home game that year when taylor passed the ball to corey as time expired in a really close game and he was yelling at corey for it like it was his fault. that team had a lot of talent but just didn't play real well together.

Gotta disagree there...McIntosh was not a Big 12 caliber pg...Ross Marsden saw big minutes for us down low...Jiri still thought he was a guard...and Wesley Johnson was only a freshman (granted a good one). Dodie Dunson is now coming off the bench for a Missouri Valley team as a Junior, and had 2 points and 2 boards yesterday in 13 minutes...Brock Jacobson saw big minutes for that team, which doesn't happen on a team with a lot of talent (no offense to Brock, the kid worked his butt off, but he'd be the first to admit he is not a Big 12 guard). I actually thought that team maxed out it's potential in the win column.

    Re: Corey McIntosh

I think he would have helped us out a lot. I really wish he would have played here his final season. He is really a stand up guy personally as well. I sent him a message when he first got to Ames, wishing him good luck and all. Still to this day he will send updates on how he is doing and thanks me for having faith in him. That is pretty cool.

It wasn't his role to be a 20 and 10 guy at ISU. Stevie did just fine here.

    Re: Corey McIntosh

Yeah I know that wasn't Stevie's role while he was here, but he is shooting 44% on threes this year and has made 37 of them. I didn't even know he stepped foot outside the paint while at ISU, other than to maybe shoot free throws.
