    Emergency Liquidation Sale

    No, not the stock market.
I saw a bunch of advertising for this going on this weekend at the state fairgrounds.
Looks like some ridiculous deals on electronics and some apparel. Wondering if it is too good to be true. Anyone ever been there before

Yeah, I believe it started this morning? and if it did, anything worth purchasing is gone. When they say: Laptops: $199. That means the laptop is from about 2002 and barely works. I went to one of them last year.

I heard about it on 97.3. The 'apparel' is all FUBU or SouthPole etc.

they were selling other stuff pretty cheap.

    Re: Emergency Liquidation Sale

I went to one of those super computer sales awhile back. If they have similar stuff, a lot of times you can get components for your older computers for cheap (often its hard to find cheap old ram and such). Also could be good for getting parts for any older stuff.

A lot of stuff is just junk though.

Those sales are a total waste of your time. Interesting people at them....

    Re: Emergency Liquidation Sale

Everyone that I know in the Des Moines area has tried it once. That is all it takes to find that it is a waste of your time. The junk is cheap knock offs out of mexico and they nail you for a gate fee that usually is their money maker. Not to knock East siders in this thread, but let's just say that there is a reason that it is being held at the fairgrounds. Every year they market this same generic sale in different ways to get you down there. Save yourself money and time and skip it!
