Huskers sure know how to treat their women

It appears that the husker football program has made progress in reducing violence directed towards their female companions during domestic disputes. The old standard was the Lawrence Phillips way of dragging your girlfriend up the stairs by the hair and slamming her head into a mailbox.

The new, improved style, demonstrated over last weekend by DE Barry Tuner, involves picking up a girl and carrying her back into the residence. This was followed by hitting her with a pillow at "medium strength" which you have to admit beats the old mailbox routine. He did manage to pull a Mike Tyson by getting in a bite on the arm while fending off the girl coming after him with a candlestick.

Good news for husker fans that it happened in Lincoln as no charges are expected to be filed.

If the huskers would just manage to document a few more such incidents, they could introduce their own licensed version of the board game Clue.

It looks like the glory has been restored. Tommy O is running the show again.

Re: Huskers sure know how to treat their women

he hit her with a pillow while she was hitting him with a candle stick and when she wouldnt stop he bit her (so much worse than hitting right?) to get her to stop. he picked her up to carry her back in because he didnt want her to drive in the snowstorm that was going on at the time.

good try spinning the story, but get your facts straight next time before you make something up....

Condoning the act of husker football players...my life in Omaha is a living hell. The people here try to make everything the fault of the woman.

Come to think of it, maybe they are on to something...

Nah, don't try to use logic in this debate. I've learned quickly that regardless of facts, some posters here will believe anything negative about a rival school as long as it hasn't happened at ISU recently.

Way to buy the snowstorm spin hook, line, & sinker. You seemed to leave out the part about the guy going off because of a phone call the girl made.

Re: Huskers sure know how to treat their women

Wasn't there a lineman last year at Nebraska who was getting all sorts of grabby at a bar, and not much happened to him?

If that makes you feel better.

Was this guy the kicker? Why wasn't a football player able to restrain a girl? I've never hit a girlfriend with a pillow or bit her. Not sure what there is to defend... Both sound like quality people.

Silly Hawk. Haven't you learned that the only things needed to prove anything factual are vague assumptions and your own opinions? Duh!

What makes me feel better? All charges were dropped, because the county and prosecutors decided that there wasn't a case. Apparently, there must be some truth to the story that he was trying to keep his girlfriend from driving in dangerous conditions.

I guess had he not carried her back inside and let her drive, people would be upset if she was injured because he didn't try to stop her.

If he was interested in beating her up, he would have done a lot more than hit her with a pillow. I'm not saying what he did was right, but sheesh some people get so giddy over stuff like this.

After his yellow page incident of letting his fingers do the walking, he sat out last year, but is raring to play ball again this fall!

None of you ******* hackeye fans have a dog in this fight. You are defending one of your own though, so I understand.

I was commenting on your statement about rivals. Did the EIU case get dropped?

Unless that is Courtney Paris coming at you with the candlestick, I don't know why any football player should need to "defend" themselves...
