The last time the S&P was this low

    Sept- 1996
I was a sophomore, backup offensive lineman on the class 2-A state runner up Aplington-Parkerburg football team and was preparing for my role as Curly in the school musical, "OKLAHOMA!"

HS, College, 2 jobs, a wife, and 2 kids later- Here we stand in March, 2009.

It's ok, it will be all better by summer.

That is, once we pass the latest bailout package. And the one next month. And the one two months from now...

Re: The last time the S&P was this low

can they bail me out? Oh wait..... I don't believe in going to resorts and getting spa treatments, playing golf in $100,000 members fees, and go to vegas on my private jet or to bailout meetings. They won't valet park my Pacer if I drove so I guess not.

It wasn't my intent to turn this into a "when is it coming back" thread. I was more curious what everyone was up to?

when will peole just plain shut there frickin mouths and let everything work itself out? GM may go to bankruptcy....... Ding Ding Ding stocks drop, Economy is going sour....Ding Ding Ding stocks drop. If they would just report NOTHING I believe that the market would fix itself without bailing companies out. It has to be better then whats going on now

Re: The last time the S&P was this low

Yeah, this is gonna be a long tough ride.

I wish I would have followed my brother's advice a year and a half ago... he took everything he had out of the stock market in October of 2007, literally one day off from the highest peak the stock market has ever seen. And most people thought he was making a mistake. In hindsight the signs were obvious, but it is hard to go against conventional wisdom and the "experts."
