    KSU loses hotshot coordinator...

Not sure if this has been posted already, and apologize if it has, but they lost Ludwig (former Utah OC) to Jeff Tedford. Makes me feel a little better, A) because it's happening to someone else, B) it's worse than what's happened to us (since Chiz), and C) any hardship that befalls the new Snyder era at KSU is beneficial to our climbing back out of the cellar...

Maybe he got there, looked at the roster, and said "F this".

That is good for us, KSU got Chizzed

“One day we’ll be in here celebrating a Big 12 championship,” Rhoads said. “That I can promise you.”

"I hope to coach here until I retire," Hoiberg said.

I checked out PowerCat, and they were talking about this over a week ago, not sure how this hasn't got around yet, but still, good news for us...

Nice find. Man I hope we come away from KC with a win to escape the lowly B12N cellar. Has to be one of the most important games of the year for both schools.

I would not celebrate Ludwig leaving. Dana Dimel, the guy that brought Arizona's offense back to life the last two years, is his replacement in Manhattan. Dimel was offered the coordinator job two months ago and turned it down but reconsidered after the Ludwig announcement. Del Miller and Jonathan Beasley will be coaching the receivers and quarterbacks.

Ludwig explains his quick KSU departure - College Football Nation - ESPN
My co-workers good friend is ludwig's wife. She said that once he got there and the family had a chance to look around they couldn't get out fast enough. They were coming from Salt Lake where there were so many things to do, and Ludwig felt he was screwing over his family to move them to Craphattan. Nothing to do with Snyder or the roster - but the location didn't work for them. Ala Price with us perhaps?

    Re: KSU loses hotshot coordinator...

    Ludwig explains departure
    Mark Janssen mjanssen@themercury.com
Andy Ludwig said it was something he "... just had to do."
Talking with The Manhattan Mercury, the former Kansas State offensive coordinator who left for a similar position at California earlier this month, said the switch in schools was simply a "family matter."
Ludwig's mother lives in the "East Bay" area, plus he has a brother and sister in the area.

"It was all about the positives of being at Cal professionally and personally, and nothing to do with getting away from the (KSU) situation I was in," said Ludwig, whose office view is the Golden State Bridge.
Ludwig said he did not feel good about the departure and admitted that it was "... an ugly deal, but something I had to do."
Asked if it had to do with any conflict with head coach Bill Snyder's philosophy or play-calling responsibilities, Ludwig said, "Absolutely not, absolutely not. That had zero influence on this decision."
Ludwig said his salary was higher than what he would have received at K-State, but added that the cost of living in the Berkley area was also higher.
Ludwig joins the staff of Jeff Tedford, who he had known through his coaching days at Fresno State and Oregon.

Cal is easily a better gig than KSU. The only reason I could have seen him sticking around at KSU is if he was the head coach in waiting.
