Who will make the final four?

Don't pick who you think will get a #1 seed, but pick who makes the final four.

Remember that stressed spelled backwards is desserts!

Re: Who will make the final four?

KU will run into a buzz saw along the way. They won't make it. Chances are Collins will have an off night sooner or later in the tourney and they don't have enough depth.

Re: Who will make the final four?

I don't know how to create a poll because I'm a *******, but I'd like to see a poll on who we think will be first team All Big 12.

The great thing about college basketball is that is actually possible even though the mathematical odds are almost impossible.

I wouldn't bet on Pitt when it comes to tourney time. They can't hold the #1 spot for even a week it seems like.

Re: Who will make the final four?

This seems kind of pointless until the brackets are out. Especially in such a parity-filled year like this one. Instead of a pointless poll, let's really discuss these teams:

    - I can surely see UNC making the FF, but not if a tough, attacking team like Pitt is in their bracket.
    - Duke might be in there, but if they run into a Syracuse or Michigan St. team with good defense and superior athletes, they'll be in trouble. Plus, they're not going to get that extra call or three a game that they always seem to get in the ACC.
    - KU is too young to be a serious contender, but if given the right matchups, why not? One of the top 3 players in the nation at the two most important positions on the court can take a team a long way.
    - I'm not sold on any team that has lost a game, any game, by 25+ (Mizzou, and you can throw Duke in that category as well). Honestly, after seeing Mizzou yesterday, I'm not convinced that they really do anything well. They can force some turnovers, so they will be a tough 2nd or 4th round matchup (only one day to prepare for), but their S16 opponent will have plenty of time to prepare and could blow them out like KU did yesterday.
    - Gonzaga is too soft to win 4 games, but could scare some big boys in a second round game.
    - Marquette won't get there without James; Xavier and Villanova don't have the firepower;
    - I'd throw Memphis in the Xavier and Villanova category, but I actually think they have a shot. They've been quietly one of the better teams in the country, but they play in a terrible conference, so who knows how well they are prepared.
    - Any of those tough Big East teams have as good of a shot as anyone (UConn, Pitt, and Louisville, especially), but they could run into a talented 7-10 seed that was disappointing during the season but still is dangerous (Texas, Kentucky, Gonzaga, for example)
    - The Big 10 sucks outside of Michigan State, but I think Michigan State has a shot. Like I said above, they have athletes, they are used to having to score with the tighter whistles of the Big 10, and they play solid team defense. And don't discount Izzo's tournament experience. I could definitely see the Spartans in Detroit (and being in Detroit would give them a nice edge in that Final Four). They're not the best team around, but they certainly have as good of a shot as anyone to win the whole thing in a year like this with no dominant teams.
    - I don't think any of those Pac-10 teams are good or tough enough to win four games. What will help them is that there is so few good teams out west that the good teams out there will surely get to stay out there and get a semi-home court advantage. Still, none of them are really that good. If I had to pick one that could do the most damage, it would be UCLA, but they've been inconsistent, and I'm not convinced that Collison is the team leader that everyone thinks he is.

Yes, I understand some of these teams will play each other before the final four, but the point of a message board is to discusst things like these.
