Anyone following our recruits' HS seasons?

Any one tracking how our recruits are doing?

Re: Anyone following our recruits' HS seasons?

Amanda Zimmerman's Ballard team is #1 in 3A and in next week's state tournament.

Chelsea Poppens' Aplington-Parkersburg team was knocked out in regionals. Her team wasn't ranked, but she put up some monster numbers for them.

QuikStatsIowa.com is having issues, so I don't have stats for them right now. I'll also look into Prins and Schroll...

Prins' Broomfield (CO) team is undefeated and shooting for a three-peat championship.

Schroll's Midland Dow (MI) team is still alive. She's averaging around 16 ppg.

Re: Anyone following our recruits' HS seasons?

Anna is averaging 13 pts per game, and only plays about half the game except for 2 or 3 which have not been huge blowouts.

    She is shooting 91.7 % from the line (44/48), and 71 % on 3 pointers (5/7)

Re: Anyone following our recruits' HS seasons?

    Stats for Zimmerman and Poppens:

Zimmerman is leading a loaded Ballard team with 16.1 ppg, 6.2 rpg, and 2.0 blocks per game. She's shooting 58.1% from the field, 75.9% from the line, and is 0-4 on three-pointers.

Poppens led A-P with 20.7 ppg, 15.8 rpg, 4.9 steals per game, and 3.0 blocks per game. She shot 45.3% from the filed (only 3-26 behind the arc) and needs to work on her FT shooting (103-185 for 55.7%). She actually led her team in assists with 2.7 per game.

Overall, Poppens was #9 in PPG, #3 in RPG, #8 in steals, and #20 in blocks across all Iowa classes.

Kind of sad that as a star player, she sits more than she gets to play because her team is so good and blows everyone out.

Re: Anyone following our recruits' HS seasons?

Midland Dow beat Midland High 51-37 in the district semifinal. I don't have any stats for Schroll yet...

EDIT: Schroll had 17 points. Dow and High split the season series, so this was a big win.

Re: Anyone following our recruits' HS seasons?

Ballard beat Waukon 59-30 this evening in the 3A semifinal. I'll add Zimmerman's stats when I find them. I'm pretty sure she had a double-double.

EDIT: Zimmerman had 17 points, 13 rebounds, 4 blocks, 3 assists (4 to), and 1 steal

Re: Anyone following our recruits' HS seasons?

Broomfield won last night 69 - 29. Anna scored her 6th 3pt for the year. 3 out of 4 from the line, so her FT percentage drops a little to 91. Their PG twisted her ankle, and is questionable for tomorrow's game. They are not expected to have a problem with the next team otherwise.
