    Re: Fox TV

They moved the date to June because some people couldn't make the deadline. The whole thing is a big waste of money IMO. The FCC felt like they needed to do something so they could be relevant since their was no "Wardrobe Malfunction" last year to ***** about.

I had heard before 2/17 that KDSM 17 was planning to turn off their analog signal, but a quick check of the channels shows that KDSM analog is still on, so they must have changed their plans. Looks like 13 was the only one in DSM who turned off their analog signal.

If you are talking about the FCC part then, yes you are correct. But the digital switch has been pushed.

    Re: Fox TV

For the past year, television stations, including this station, have notified viewers of the February 17, 2009 analog shutoff date through on-air announcements, informational crawls, full-length programs, and their website. As a result, in order to avoid additional confusion due to the date change and as permitted by the recently enacted legislation, this station has notified the FCC that we would like to cease analog operations on February 17, 2009, as originally planned, and the FCC has consented to this station's plans for early termination. As required by the FCC, we are currently airing announcements throughout the day to inform our viewers that we will terminate analog broadcasting on effective at 11:59PM on February 17.

Because KDSM is a horribly managed TV station?

To answer your question, I don't think they've shut off the analog signal since they got the extension until June 12. Does it say Feb. 17th on their scroll bar? I've seen that scroll bar in other places that now say June 12 instead of Feb. 17.

The website is out of date, because their analog signal is still on. I checked earlier today when I made my previous post. So to answer your question, they're still running the crawl because the analog signal is still on and some people could still be watching it.

The Fox analog signal is still on the air, but only as a "night-light" signal. The analog side has been running just PSAs about the transition and what to do, but not regular programming. Programming is now on the digital side exclusively, if I've been seeing things correctly.

Fair enough. Guess I didn't really watch the analog signal long enough to realize all they were running was PSAs.

In that case, I stand corrected. And then yes, it is a little stupid that they're still running the crawl on their digital signal that says people need to convert because obviously if they can see that, they've already converted.
