    RBI Baseball (nes)

This game..... Looks simple in appearance but all the different player attributes really make it quite complex.

Been playing quite a bit recently. Set up a 2 man tourney with the 10 teams. lots of fierce action the last couple night with best of 3 series play.

So far Boston out slugged SF and won game 3 by a score of 4-0, despite being no-hit By Reuschel/Robinson in game 2.

NY swept MIN behind a couple Hernandez homers and Dykstra getting on base at will.

AL outlasted CAL in game 3. CAL came out slugging in game 1. Games 2 and 3 were nip and tuck but AL pieced together just enough hits to get in a couple late runs.

NL walloped DET in game 3 to advance. Detroits bats exploded in game 1 and started early in game 2 but went in the tank the rest of the series. Lots of timely hitting by Dawson, Davis, and Schmidt proved the difference in game 2. Tony Gwynn hit a 3 run homer early in game 3 that proved to be the difference in a 7-2 laugher.

Moving ahead...later today. NY vs BOS- Bostons ridiculously powerful offense will be on display vs NY's top notch pitching staff. Regardless Boston will be the huge favorite. NY has some severe power outage problems.

AL vs NL. Same situation as above. NL's big bats will be put to the test vs AL's solid staff.

One of the best NES games, I run it on an emulator on my xbox occasionally.

I think you can get this game on the Wii as a download.

We are playing on a NES. 2 player in RBI is completely stellar when you have to equally skilled players.

    Re: RBI Baseball (nes)

Whew...just played a very demanding series. Boston @ NY. I pretty much give away game 1 to Boston on a silver platter.

Walk a Dewey evans to load the bases in hopes of getting a DP ground ball out of rich gedman. Ojeda comes in but CAN NOT find the strike zone and walks in a run. 2-0 Boston. Next batter dave hendersen hits a grounder to short stop and get the force at 2nd but the 2nd baseman on the bag along with short stop cuts off the ball(sort of a glitch in the game) and it costs me another run. Boston rolls in game 1.

Game 2: Carter leads the charge early for NY hitting 2 home runs. In the 9th a tired Gooden serves up a homer to Rich gedman(of all people) to knot things up at 4. Jack mcdowell comes in and mows down Hendersen and Schilardi. In the bottom of the 9th Strawberry singles and steals 2nd. HoJo lines one just over the 3rd basemans head down the line and Straw scores on a play at the plate. If Boggs pulls it in, Straw gets doubled off at 2nd and we go extras. NY ties the series @ 1.

Game 3: orosco gives up 3 solo shots thru 3 2/3 innings Boston has what appears to be a commanding 3-0 lead. Clemens is sawing off the Ny Bats. Dykstra scores in the 7th to make it 3-1. In the 9th a tiring Schiraldi gets pulled and Stanley comes in and is greeted by a Strawberry single. Strawberry eventually scores but with 2 outs and runners on 1st/2nd and no one left in the pen/on the bench Jack mcdowell has to bat and strikes out.

Boston wins 3-2 and takes the series. My screw ups in game 1 coupled with 2 back to back nip and tuck games that both came down to the bottom of the 9th with the decision in doubt physically wore me out. great series even though I didnt win.

A real classic for NES, probably just a coincidence, but for all of my friends and myself, this game was easily the hardest one we had to keep running. By far next to impossible to keep the cartridge happy for any length of time. We'd keeping playing even though the ball had been replaced by the letter "f" and the players were gigantic fuzzy rectangles...

    Those were the days.

I learned how to work on the NES (clean/replace the pin connector) so i probably have 6-8 working nintendos here at my house.

Tecmo Bowl and RBI each have their own NES and those carts are NEVER removed. Those games are staples with my buddies so we can't have those failing on me.
