    Does Barnes know about this?

    Article

"Of the big-time programs (schools with over 15 players selected in the past 20 years), Duke is the rated as the worst at producing NBA talent."

Here's the data (ISU is pretty high)

Personally, I think this study kind of misses the mark, but I figured CF would get a kick out of it.

I wonder who our star is?

Regardless, that is about the most worthless stat out there. Wake Forest has sent 7 players in 20 years. How can that possibly be better than Duke, UNC, Kentucky, etc? It isn't. Yes maybe they have a better star to player ratio but that is just b/c they don't have as large of a number to draw from

Re: Does Barnes know about this?

For Brackins it shows that another year of college BB will likely mean he goes in the top 5 or 10 versus top 30 to 40. Big difference... and huge difference in pay over his career. Of course, each player must still produce in the NBA regardless of where they go.

But I think it suggests that players leaving early in the hope of going in the first round may be going too soon and miss out on development, even if they make in into the first round. Where these "stars" get all the attention in a college practice and game, they are the role players in the NBA practices and games. So by staying in college and increasing your draft status, you not only get more focused practice and game attention in college, you get drafted higher and thus more commitment by an NBA team to develop you versus losing interest at your first lack of success. Higher draft status, bigger investment, better development, more money for the player.
