    ISU History

Times are certainly tough with both football and basketball having down years for the 3 years. Someone might check, but it seems like quite awhile since both programs have been down this long at the same time. I think this is one reason so many here are feeling so down. In football do we have the we have to give the new coach time and sit through losing football for the next years. In the past in basketball even when not having non post season games it seemed like the teams were fun to watch and people are questioning the coach and ability to get and keep talent.

This is the time to do what Cyclone fans have done a lot of and that is to find reasons to be optimistic. What if we have a new football staff that doesn't need that excuse of needing time and new system. The defense could be vastly improved, it was unbelievably horrible and even improvement to average would mean more wins. Maybe the staff can accomplish things like happened in the 70s with Johny Majors. What a staff. The coach on that staff that others refered to as the kid really went on and acomplished alot.

With the basketball team things feel like they are close. The game last night the announcers talked about how good ISU's defense was. If only Brackins did not have to carry the load so much in scoring. What if Taylor and Johnson were still here. Next year most everybody is back. I remember the improvement in Fizer from Soph to Jr.

Anyway too long a post I need to shut up now.

Well, if this were Lost he would be on the island but he is actually dead and we're in pergatory and then the smoke monster comes out and....actually, I have no idea since he would've been out of eligibility. He only had one year left but it would've been totally sweet having him, wesley, and a much improved brackins on the same court!

Yep, this thread has just been pwned.

    Re: ISU History

Most good teams that don't have much talent make up for it with toughness. We seem to be lacking in both categories. We seemingly never grab the loose balls. Our guys reach for the ball with their hands while the other guys go after it with their entire body. I'm not sure if our guys wear mouthpieces or not, but this might be a start.
