Post your LOST explanations (with a date)..

Let's post what we think of certain events or chapters of the tv show LOST with a date so we can look them up and see what others think and see if they are alike:

Here's my post for the day:

2-19-09: This show keeps growing and keeps getting better in every episode. I like how they boought the losties back to the island and the viewers of this show are welcoming these concepts too.

Black smoke: So far the black smoke had tried to kill the bad people or people the island didn't expect in the first place. The few ones of the oceanic flight that landed in this island survived because the black smoke had allowed them to survive. Its either the island, or the smoke that drove the "rejects" away or had them killed - and if not by either the island or the smoke, they were killed or attacked by the "others". The black smoke had killed the murderer-turned-pastor black guy (don't remember his name) and I am not sure why that is. He seemed to be the only guy that was too religious and maybe the black smoke is trying to keep the island's people from being persuaded by religious beliefs.

Jacob and the difference between John Locke and Jack's dad/Claire: I have no idea why Jack's dad told John Locke to have never trusted Ben. Ben seemed to have close ties to Jacob, the leader of the island, who can apparently send the black smoke to kill of bad people or people Ben doesn't like.

The dead people elsewhere are alive in the island: Jack's dad died in Australia and were being brought back via Oceanic flight 815 (I think). We spotted his dad in this island wandering around in several episodes. He did say he died but he could be seen by both Claire and John. I wonder if and when John's dead body returns to this island, he will be just another ghost.

108 or the lottery numbers: Every 108 minutes they had to push the button to keep the island from moving or making that noise. The team seemed to be rescued on the 108th day. The lottery numbers are very specific to Hurley and the island's computer system. I wonder what that all means - it might just be conincident that Hurley's winning numbers are the island's numbers as well. Maybe that's why Hurley became a significant character to the story, or maybe the destiny picked Hurley to be on this island because he was done with his messy life. So yeah, I still don't know what exactly those numbers mean to the story.

    Jin's escape from the island:
In an earlier episode, they show Jin had escaped from the island and actually married someone else. Well, I wonder when that really happened, since he never left the island or at least the viewers think that. I wonder when he bought that Panda for Sun's new born, how he ended up back in Japan.

I think Richard Alpert is actually from the distant future and the island was created as a time traveling device in the distant future.

While on live TV, Ford used a vulgar term to describe a private part of the female anatomy, adding that he was “happily married” and “got more than enough to eat at home.”

No, he's the dark-haired "Other" that we've seen all over the place and in different time frames. Juliett even mentioned to Locke that he's "very old" when Locked asked how old he is.

2-19-09: If Richard is from the future and should know Locke, how come he didn't recognize Locke when he saw him again after the flash?
If the island was created from the future for time travel why are all the Dharma initiatives tapes in black and white? I thought the Dharma guys discovered the island?!?

I think Danielle and the Frenchies were in the coach section of Ajira Airways 316. The Oceanic 6 (minus Aaron and plus Lapidus) were taken from the plane during the flash of light and deposited on the island in a different time. The plane also traveled to a different point in time, ended up in the 1980s, and crashed in the ocean. Danielle and the Frenchies were the only survivors.

    I could be way wrong.

It can't be. ABC can't afford to do that to the viewers.

Its a good theory but I don't think that's what happened. Russo had to have landed in that island right around Dharma iniative. If I am not mistaken Russo had that daughter with Ben. Isn't this the same Danielle Russo as the woman who Jack's group first met with a gun in her hand saying the others have taken the children and killed the men?

You know the funny thing is Jin is remembered by Russo but Jack was not remembered by Richard. Maybe, its because Jack went back in time.

Ben is not the biological father of Danielle's baby. He took the baby from her and raised her as his own. (At least I think this is the consensus among most fans--it may not have been specifically established in the show.)

Excellent point, except that we never saw issues with high tides and bad weather days in the island to be consistent with global warming.

The island is purgatory. They all died in the plane crash. I have no other ideas.

Now that MBB is back, do we still have to pretend that WBB matters?

Ben WAS NOT the father of Roussou's baby. She was very pregnant when she arrived on the island. Her baby was taken by the others and raised as Ben's daughter.

*Why the heck can I not remember the daughters name...crap.

They've explained the polar bears on the island as "Dharma Initiative tests" and nothing more. However, when we first saw Charlotte's body we did see her crew in the middle of the Sahara desert uncover polar bear bones with the Dharma Inititive symbol.
