    Milwaukee Area CFers?

I'm moving to Milwaukee in 2 weeks and wanted to see if we have any CF cheeseheads. (I've already found a few but wanted to see if there are others)

Are there any gamewatches in Mil-town. I've heard of the one in Menomonee Falls but is there one in the city. I'll be moving downtown or to the Eastside.

Is there a Cyclone club up there?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm curious too. My wife (ISU '04) is from Hales Corners and we are back twice a year. I've missed numerous games as I haven't been able to find a game watch. (I'm sure they exist).

    Re: Milwaukee Area CFers?

    Thanks for the insight-

Any other fanatics around the Brew City?

Being in Big 10(1) country will be bad enough, let alone getting hardly any games on TV

Any recommendations from other out-of-towners that watch games regularly. Clone Zone, Espn gameplan, etc.? What works?

    Re: Milwaukee Area CFers?

I live in the Milwaukee area, in a small town called Waterford to the SouthEast.

Anyway, TimeWarner stinks, but that is what we got. Direct TV is really your only other option, but in Spring it is a coin flip whether or not it is going to work.

I have the TW Sports package. Doesn't support espn360, and have fullcourt.

WBB - I have seen almost all games, either on FoxSports or CloneZone.

MBB - Fullcourt is the only way to go.

Football - I am going to check out the bar that is referenced this fall, because the only football on TV is Big 10. And if it isn't enough to have it on the Big 10 Network, Wisconsin, Illinois, Northwestern, Marquette, and even Iowa often have regional coverage here on main stations. PUKE!!!!

NFL - If you are not a cheesehead or a bear, be prepared, because that is the only thing you will see other than Monday/Sunday night football, and the occasional Minnesota game.

Ironic, my next door neighbors are Cyclones.

Personally, I would suggest you do temp housing for a month or two at one of the downtown buildings that do monthly rent. There are a few that are reasonable. Milwaukee is a tricky area to say where to live, because bad neighborhoods are right next door to good neighborhoods/streets. A couple blocks one way or another makes a difference.

However, if you are looking a trendy area, I would suggest an apartment in the third ward just south of downtown next to the summerfest. Easy access to downtown, a few great restaurants, better parking, and with the down economy rents are coming down and buys are better. East side is nice as well.

If you want tips on the area, give me a private message and I would be happy to send you my email address.

I lived out of state for 3 football and basketball seasons, and aside from the ISUAA gamewatches, I did ESPN Gameplan and Full Court as often as I could (actually hardly missed a bball game with a FC subscription). I would recommend the yahoo sports radio broadcast, well worth the $5/month subscription to know you'll always have reliable, quality audio feed of John Walters. Or, you could just start a new thread on CF every game day asking if there is free internet radio.
