    Alexander Robinson

Alexander Robinson is going to be a beast this year. He won't have to share the carries anymore with JJ Bass. They might give Bo Williams it a little to let him rest. But he will have over 1,000 yards this season with the new offense and getting the ball more. If we get him going it will help our passing game too.

I think he will also have a good year. I look for him to actually line up in the slot sometimes, and we'll throw to him on that same damn wide receiver screen we have been unable to stop for the past 5 years. I think him and Williams will split time, and neither will have amazing stats, but combined they will roll up a lot of all purpose yards.

Yes I am sure he'll get over 1,000 yards.

I hope Bo takes some carries from him. I love A-Rob and he'll probably be in on passing downs but I love a battering ram back there.

Goal line touchdowns. Instead of running the optionon the goal line example the colorado game. We could of won but we got chized.

Let's hope that if we try that again this year, our receivers downfield will block and the receivers catching the ball can break some tackles. It was very painful watching Baylor run that play for 10+ yards each time, while we run the same play for zero or negative gain.

As for A-Rob, the dude is a beast, and I hope he can be our first back since 2004 to get 1K in a season. I loved seeing him break out near the end of last season (and how heartbreaking was it to see him on the field after the last play against CU) and hope it can continue.

But I do agree with others that say Bo will take some of his carries away. And we cannot forget Jeremiah Schwartz, James White, Beau Blankenship, etc.

    Re: Alexander Robinson

What it's going to come down to is who is the better pass blocker. Yes, all of our runningbacks can run through big holes all day long and have some pretty remarkable yards after contact...they should, they are D1 athletes. But what it comes down to is their ability to pass block. Since were going to be a passing team, if you can't pass block and pick up the blitzing linebacker or corner then we're going to be royally screwed. That's why you saw Scales in there on most 3rd downs, cause we had a long distance to go and he is a good pass blocker...I think Bo will give us that option back there with the explosive running power

Looking at Rice's stats for last year makes it look like Herman doesn't run the ball too much. Their no. 1 tailback had 167 carries for 809 yds, the no. 2 tailback had 15 carries for 48 yds.

Sitting in Floyd Casey that evening, after their god-awful tailgating scene (except for the awesome state fans we met outside) was one of the most painful athletic experiences of my life. That was a wood-shed beating.

I fully expect AROB to start the whole season, but Bo will play a lot. I don't see Bo starting more than one game, but he WILL play.

    Re: Alexander Robinson

Herman has said that his offense will always be tailored to the players he has. We will run more here than Rice did. We have better backs here. The strength at Rice was QB and WR.

    Re: Alexander Robinson

Go back to his early years in coaching. Those teams ran when they did not have a good passing attack. I don't have stats in front of me but he made light of this in his initial interview with Cyclones.com.
