Civil is way better than Construction!! (Sorry I'm biased since I have a Civil degree).

Same here. Great school for both, though!

where are you transferring from? maybe some of us can give you some ideas of how it will be different then.

i had an internship in iowa city and while i enjoyed it (minus the hawks) there was noticeable differences.

    Re: Transfering to ISU

The only real question you need to answer first is; are you changing your affiliation to the Cyclones and denouncing the team to the east? If not, no help for you!!!

    Cyclone
Iowa State became the Cyclones after they leveled Northwestern in 1895. As the Chicago Tribune (9/29/1895) noted:
    'Struck by a Cyclone
It Comes from Iowa and Devastates Evanston Town'

Are you looking for living on campus or off campus? If you are looking to live off campus I would recommend living near campus/Welch. I thought it was much better being able to walk to class, bars, and campus town restaurants then having to drive or take a bus.

    Re: Transfering to ISU

I'm taking classes at DMACC this semester. I'd like to live on campus, just don't know if I'll be able to swing rent/utils regularly because I plan on only working part time to make sure I keep my grades up the first year there. But I did talk to a friend up there who I may move in with at UV appts. BTW, it says that transfers over 18 only have the option of the appts or the res halls on the other side of lincoln. I'll be 19 in july so I assume those are my options unless there is some kind of cutoff. I'd like to be on or as close to campus as possible.

Oh, and I'll be up tomorrow to meet with a ConE advisor. Can I park in the lot across the street from Town to the east?

You made the right choice. As a fellow Construction Engineer, you'll enjoy making fun of the CE's and what a bunch of Dorks they are!

    Haha!

    Re: Transfering to ISU

There are pay meters at the armory which i used a lot when dropping off papers, etc.

Where you kinda want to live is also dependent on if you party/ cook at home a lot/ go to the grocery store a couple times a week. Apartments are pretty abundant so you can find one close to your preferences. I enjoyed living in old houses in campustown partywise but bill wise it sucked. The heating on those can run hundreds a month...

Kristin Mauro. Are there any free visitor lots around campus? I don't mind walking. Lets me take a look around on the way there.
