I am glad the farmer is fighting back.

Is it wrong I found humor in this?

Ok, while I'm all for freedom of speech, I also believe in respect for others. It's one thing to keep your pigs, but it's another when you make a big spectacle of it just to spite your neighbor.

I am afraid they poked the bear... and unleashed the swine.

If a neighbor told you to remove your cyclone flag from your yard or move out - i'm guessing you would go out and buy a bigger flag, and paint your house in crimson & gold.

That is part of the humor. Both sides are acting like children. You took my favorite toy, so I will take yours. Don't forget, respect should have been shown when the farmer was asked to move.

Yes, but the key to repsect sometimes is being the bigger person and even swallowing your own pride. I feel sad for both parties.

sad??? Pig racing will likely turn into a national phenomena making the farmer millions - needing to expand his swine speedway he'll be forced to purchase the adjacent land at a premium allowing a bigger and better mosque with 2 fitness centers to be built down the road.

To me this is about property rights. I believe a factory hog farm shouldn't be build next to a town. If one is proposed the town will do similiar things here in Iowa, which they should, it is there right. This is a situation where the farm has been in place for 200 years and some group is moving in on them. The local farmer and friends are doing a non-violent protest to the act's of this group on private property.

    Re: Pig racing

Pig racing...what next? Racing cats? Hamsters? Lizards?

I think anyone who's got the Budweiser lizards, Frank and Louie - would win hands down.

    Beware of the ferret...

Oh, about the whole deal - yeah - the new kids on the block disrespected the man in a very crude way. While it may not have been nice for him to kick off pig races, I do appreciate the man's creativity and will-power.

I meant sad in terms of both parties stooping to levels of childishness. I wasn't referring to the specifics of the story and my personal opinion of what should happen.

I wonder what PETA thinks of this??

    PETA is probably saying...

"Well, that's a few less pigs that are getting slaughtered for consumption....".

The pigs looked like they could stand to lose a couple pounds after the holidays anyway.
