As much heat as he gets for retiring and unretiring...it has to be a tough decision! And the timing is difficult as well. Those guys are forced to make a decision at the end of a long season...who knows how he will feel in June?

My guess is he'll be playing for the Vikings this coming season...

Nah, it'll be immediately after the Jets name Kellen Clemmons the starter and select two QB's in the draft. The draft begins April 25, so I'm guessing Brett'll indicate his interest in returning no later than May 1! He waited too long last season and learned his lesson...

Re: Jets report Favre to retire

Colin Cowherd just had a 10 minute long brown nosing session where he talked about how Favre is an American Icon, a legend, and the only current NFL QB who could have played in the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, and beyond. Sure, you have to take the bad with the good, but he's a gunslinger.

Uggh, I want to throw up. Colin must've had some pretty thick kneepads on.

I hate it when analyists toss around the term "gunslinger" like it's some great quality in a quarterback. All "gunslinger" means is that the QB tends to be sloppy, take big risks, and play out of control. Yeah, that's exactly what I want in a quarterback.

Hopefully #4 stays retired this time.

You're talking about a guy who's broken many records and will be in the Football Hall of Fame. I think you're taking a leak in the wind if you're trying to tear him down...

I would hate to have a QB who won 3 straight MVP's. Been to 2 Super Bowls, won 1 of them. Won more games at the QB position than anyone else. Has a higher QB rating than Jon Elway (by a lot). Never missed a game due to injury. Was a great teammate. ETC ETC

I am not a Favre apologist by far...but he is one of the greats.

You're being nostalgic. He is not the same QB today. The cost of having him on your team TODAY is much different. There is no arguing about how great a QB he is---when looking at the overall picture. I would not want him to QB my team next season.
