    When inmates run the asylum...

What makes a talented basketball team...

Sometimes I feel that our boosters acted as Auburns when they forced Wayne out...but hey he needed to go, or so the in the "know" people said and continue to say.

Now we have a program with integrity who gets our *** kicked on a bi-weekly basis...

Two years from now when McD. has the players in place we will be back to .500 in the league...well how swell!

Just wanted to take the time to thank the powers that be (and that smarmy athletic director)! Yeah thanks for nothing! Jamie Pollard = Matt Millen

Actually .500 in the league is something that is RARELY accomplished at ISU in basketball. Id sign up for that any day of the week.

Look at the last 12 years. I bet you find 3 seasons over .500.

I agree WM should have been give another year but some of you act like he was Naismith or something.

I take it you'd rather watch talented players underachieve, and not give effort than watch a very mediocre team do very mediocre? Do you realize that if this year's team can eek out a couple more wins with the schedule being easier down the stretch, that they will finish with a very similar record to a team that had a backcourt of Blalock (junior), Stinson (junior), and Clark?

Re: When inmates run the asylum...

I'm not going to argue anything that you are saying. We are 46-72 in football and basketball combined over the past 3 years. Alot of people can't justify spending money on teams that win less than 40% of the time. Face it, we forced out coaches that could win (Mac and Morgan). We got greedy thinking we can do better with out programs and have actually taken a couple steps back.

Who is this team going to beat down the stretch??? With the exception of Colorado, we are not favored in any game the rest of the season.

This is a message board, not Hoyle's rules on life. I don't see any problem with venting and not offering up a solution. I don't like where we are headed and don't think I need to offer up a solution. Pay me an AD's salary or coach's salary, then I'll work on solutions.

We'll be favored against Texas Tech...we also have a shot to pull another one out at home...keep in mind, that out of our four Big 12 home games so far, 3 of them have been against the top 3 teams in the conference (Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri)...the other one was against Nebraska, who is 5-4, and we beat them.

Re: When inmates run the asylum...

    B12 records for ISU

    96-97 10-6
    97-98 5-11
    98-99 6-10
    99-00 14-2
    00-01 13-3
    01-02 4-12
    02-03 5-11
    03-04 7-9
    04-05 9-7
    05-06 6-10
    06-07 6-10
    07-08 4-12
    08-09 1-7 so far

4 of the 12 years previous to this year were the only years we had .500 records.

In 8 of the 12 years, we've had at least 6 wins (McD has 1 of them).

We've also never had fewer than 4 wins in the conference. Will we be breaking that record this year?

This also shows that McD is the only one that has gotten fewer wins in 2 consecutive years (possibly three years after 08-09) This is the fact that concerns some of us.
