    Recruits

Wondering and spanning thie wide world of the internet I ccame across a few names:

Ranked 62 Orson Charles - 4 Star Wide Reciever Tampa, FL
Ranked 97 David Oku - 4 Star Running Back Midwest City, Ok
Ranked 107 Rolando Jefferson - 4 Star Wide Reciever Fresno, CA
Ranked 168 DJ Hunter - 4 Star Defensive Middletown, OH

Any reason we don't sign them?

add this name to the list.

Garrett Barnas (QB), [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LN_ybv0z7cE]YouTube - Garrett Barnas - Football Highlights[/ame]
3.4 GPA (which was his problem out of HS when he was getting recruited by iowa), NJCAA all american, NJCAA Nat'l champ i believe. could play QB, S, WR, probably KR, and was recruited out of HS as RB.

Do stars really man that much to these kids? I always thought it was how you played on the field.

I wish I could be come a recruiter, and try to get these kids on the team

I would like to think the staff is still looking at anybody that is still available and would help our team. Rivals and Scout just might not be caught up on it.

That you know of... Look up Lachristopher Aniyam --- DE prospect that was high on us and AZ and is still reportedly unsigned. Maybe these kids have grade issues, or character issues, or MAYBE they've been scouted by us and were found to not be a good fit.

There's only so much this staff can do. PR still needs to hire a DC and start recruiting the '10 class right away.

    Re: Recruits

He could be holding on to some scholarships to give to current walk-ons from previous years. Who knows.

I know Oku said he hadn't made up his mind where he wanted to go so he wasn't going to sign. Remember Pryor didn't sign till march for Ohio St. last year.

I don't want him to rush the DC hire too much, March is a decent timetable (which I think is what he said.) But I fully agree that starting the 2010 recruiting trails is as important as ever for Iowa State. We need to get our name out there to recruits early on.

    Re: Recruits

orson charles is a te if i remember right but hes also waiting to take more visits as he is also a decent basketball player so he hasn't had much time to take visits as his bball season started right after his football season ended ... also if i remember right he as down to like miami, florida, and usc ... just saying ... also i think jefferson is a baseball star as well and is seeing how that works out ... not totally sure on jefferson but also remember he was waiting ...
