So you are telling me a team filled with JRs and SRs is better than one filled with SOs? Thanks.

As I said in another thread a couple of weeks back, there is no comparison between JO and GM. JO took over a moribund program that had not seen postseason play in 40 years. His name brought instant credibility to the program and his style of play enthused the home crowds and players loved it.

GM had the backing of 20-25 years of pretty solid BB tradition coming in. The fan base has held up remarkably well despite the lack of anything positive in the program for the last 3-4 years. His style of play is an acquired taste at best and mind-numbingly boring at worst. His recruiting outside of a few major contributors has been lackluster at best.

As for TF and LE. In his FIRST year on the job TF took a team from 14-13 to 23 wins and the second round of the NCAA tournament. He followed that up by losing 95% of his scoring and going on to win the final Big 8 tournament title and advancing again to the second round of the NCAA tournament. LE's second and third seasons resulted in Conference championships.

    There is no comparison.

Name one player on GM's first team that could have been on the court with Floyd's first team? That team was a gift.. GM still took over a team with no one....Great, we have good fans, but they don't make you win. Still need the talent, ang GM is getting the talent, it is just taking time, It wasn't like Morgan helped out by recruiting the East coast only and forgetting about everyone else. One thing that is really different for GM is TF and Larry took over for good coaches, GM took over with nothing except Rashan to bank on.

True, but the good years were fresh in people's memory. I know that many will disagree with this, but had he held WM's team together he would have been set up nicely with talent. I do believe that GM has a lot of responsibility for the extreme player attrition that occurred in the change from WM to him.

All I was trying to say in the previous post was that the program had been 'built' when GM took over as opposed to when JO took over.

The problem is a lot of the talent on that last Morgan team was half way out of town when he was fired.

Coach K didn't have much success until his 4th year. In fact, he didn't go over .500 in the ACC until his 5th year.

Not saying McD is the next Hall of Fame coach, but still, you've gotta be patient.

I was referring to who was there from Morgan, Wesley and Taylor were GM's, sorry if I didn't clarify, and Taggart was gone. Point being, GM had Clark coming back.
