Women's BB rally in Oklahoma City

Does anyone know where the rally will be held before ALL the women's basketball games? I am hoping there will be 4 parties (unless of course we are a 4 seed or higher).

which is starting to look like a real possibility, although we do have a few tough games left.

Re: Women's BB rally in Oklahoma City

Notice also that the men are now Wed-Sat instead of Thu-Sun. This is all new this year. In a way it makes sense because "Selection Sunday" for the women is actually on Monday (the WBB NCAA tournament starts two days later, not counting the MBB play-in game). Nobody's sure what to think about the change yet. The really bad thing is that there are a lot more MBB/WBB B12 Tourney games simultaneously going on this year than there were in the past.

The men's tournament changed from Thu-Sun to Wed-Sat.
The women's tournament changed from Tue-Thu,Sat to Thu-Sun.

Opened up some better TV slots, compacted the women's tourney (thankfully), and now the tournament champions will be decided more than 24 hours before the respective NCAA selection shows (especially important for MBB).

no idea, but they did flip-flop with the men's tourney dates, since I believe they are now starting on Wed.

    good, good, and good.

and that does make a lot of sense for the men - basically since the selection commitee has always basically been doing their seeding during the championship game anyways

and it means i might be able to go to the whole women's tourney. Now should I take off enough time for a game on thursday or not.....

    To be more specific:

Previously, the two WBB semifinal games conflicted with the two later MBB first round games

Now, the four MBB second round games conflict with the four WBB first round games, and the two MBB semifinal games conflict with the two later WBB second round games.

Overall, I think I like the change. If the WBB team gets a top 4 seed, then the only chance for a MBB/WBB conflict is if the men make the semis.

Re: Women's BB rally in Oklahoma City

I just hope the men are either a 6 or 11 seed. That way I might be able to make the game. Since we are leaving Fort Dodge on Wednesday morning, we will not be arriving in Oky Cty very early.

So MRED, do you know where they held the rallies last time the tourney was in Oky Cty?

No clue. I've only made it to one Big 12 Tournament (but it was a good one -- 2001).

It may have been on the street that runs between the two arenas. From an ISUAA '07 photo album:

The conflicts do make me a little sad though since budget cuts mean only one pep band (hopefully 1 +a few extra bodies) is getting sent down to cover both tournaments and we'd have to be split up between the two sites if it happened.

dude. That sucks. We were lucky in '07 to take two bands - even if it was by bus. Last time we were in Dallas there was just one band for both - but like mentioned above, the chance for conflict was minimal, and we didn't have to split up the band ever.

However...on the way home from that Dallas Trip.....my poor horn...

I remember that actually, you were the one who had your horn destroyed by the airline right. Was it Jeff that actually got too excited and jumped on his?
