    Most Valuable College Football Programs

Interesting article at Forbes.com about the most valuable college football programs with revenue numbers attached to the top 15.

This is why the hiring of a great football coach is so very important...college football is BIG BUSINESS. With all of the stadium revenue, licensing revenue, bowl revenue, and university "advertising" available in today's world...a top-notch coach is worth every penny he gets and is money well spent by the university. I believe Pollard understands this.

The SEC dominates the top 15 with 7 schools, the Big 10 has 4 schools, the Big 12 has 3 schools, and Notre Dame is number one on the list.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

    Did anybody else notice this?

    Texas A&M, Aggies

    Head Coach: Dennis Franchione
Texas A&M figures to be key contributor to the Big 12’s planned cable TV channel.
    ($mil)
    Total Value: 53
    University: 1.1
    Athletics: 21.3

I had no idea that the Big 12 was planning a cable channel. I would absolutely love that.

What part of the "top notch coach" did you not understand?

Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice?
Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this.
