    Re: Bracketology - Feb. 3rd

At least a 5 seed would be extremely beneficial...just that difference between playing a 4 seed or 3 seed in the 2nd rouund could be huge in giving us a chance to get to the sweet 16

I think it's kind of a joke that you get to play at home as a low seed. Let's say Iowa gets in as a 10. If they beat the #7, potentially a #2 seed has a road game in the second round.

Except that 4 seed would be Tennessee according to this Bracketology.

    Re: Bracketology - Feb. 3rd

You also have #10 Texas Tech, #8 Rutgers, #13 Chattanooga, #11 Michigan State, #11 Gonzaga, #10 San Diego State, #8 New Mexico and #12 Georgia all hosting First and Second round sites.

I know this rule helped us last year, but some of these teams shouldn't be hosting.

    I removed it.

And it would pretty much be a home game for them.

Precisely Rutger's beef for the past like...5 years

As BF said last year at the Tourney, if you don't like it, put in a bid to host it. It appears to work, as Rutgers is projected to host as a #8 seed.

right, but we could just as well be a 5 seed facing Ohio St in Columbus or Virginia in South Bend. BOTH of which I would rather have, and would be winnable games.

    Re: Bracketology - Feb. 3rd

Hopefully Iowa doesn't make it. Looking at their schedule, they shouldn't, and they just beat a bad Penn St. team in triple OT.

(Yes, they did cream us, which ironically could end up costing us playing in IC)

    Re: Bracketology - Feb. 3rd

Why do the host sites only have 4 teams / site? I thought when it was in Hilton there were 8 teams there just like the mens tournament. I guess we need to cheer against Iowa making the tournament so we can have a chance at getting slid into the IC bracket.

If there is such a thing as a good time to play Tenn. this is the year. We are a veteran lineup vs. a young Tenn team that isn't a top 10 team this season.
