    Best Game Ever?

What are your thoughts on the BSU-OU game. Could it be considered the best ever?

I think Texas-USC was a bit better, just because of everything surrounding it, it was back-and-forth most of the game, etc.

Yet this one ranks right up there.

The Best ending of all time with two killer trick plays making Oklahoma look like saps in overtime.

    Re: Best Game Ever?

I'd have to say the best would either be the USC-Texas game last year or the Miami - Nebraska Orange Bowl game where Warren Sapp was playing. Miami jumped out to a huge lead and Nebraska fought back and won the championship game. Even if I'm not the biggest NU fan, I was definitely rooting for them after Sapp was so cocky and arrogant before the game and up until halftime..

4 of the top 10 NFL draft picks last year played the UT-USC game! I think there was 17 total picks last year. When it is all said and done there will probably be between 30-40 NFL players on the field that night. I believe it also had one more lead change than BSU-OK. So because of the stakes and higher level of play I would say it was a better overall game.

best I can remember, and I'm damn near 30!

Tx/USC was suspenseful, 2005 ISU/Iowa was beautiful, but if you had to ask me what one game I would want to watch again right now it would be the one last night.

    Re: Best Game Ever?

Best game I have ever seen, I am still kicking myself for not putting it on DVD. When it is on ESPN Classic I am going to record it. Part ot me was pulling for OK but it was great seeing BSU win the way they did. Stoops is usually the guy that goes for the jugular and it was cool seeing him on the other end of the deal this time. Coach for BSU is great.

    Re: Best Game Ever?

I voted for "Best Ever" but then it's hard to say. That game had everything and couldn't have been scripted by Hollywood any better. Blown lead, must have two point conversion to tie, pick six to put the favorite out front...seemingly for good, hook and lateral for a TD on 4th and 18 (are you kidding me?!!), apparent death knell on the OT run by #28, a halfback pass for a TD and then the statue of liberty for the WIN!

There are other good games - Cal/Stanford (the band guy getting blasted at the end always makes me giggle), ND/USC traded late td's, then USC/Texas for the title. The only one I can think of that's close to BSU/OU for me is the ISU win over Iowa in 2003 when Seneca brought us back from 24-3 to pound the Hawks in Kinnick.

In terms of importance - it may help everyone realize that the mythical "national title" doesn't exist. Games aren't played on paper so why do we trust the so-called 'experts' and some computer to tell us who is worthy of a title shot. Let the kids decide it on the field, and you'll probably get more games like this one.
