College Football Cheapshots of the year - 2008

The Wiz of Odds: Vote for the Cheapest Shot of the 2008 Season

Boise State really represented on this list. I though LJ's hit in the UNLV game might get an honarable mention.

I can't believe some of those guys didn't get ejected.

Simple reason LJ's hit wasn't on there. No one saw it. On TV anyway.

These were all at least nationally or regionally televised games on established networks.

That QB for Oregan had to be pretty sore in the head after that shot. Wow...

They certainly got the #1 cheapshot right.

As far as the Minnesota-Iowa cheapshots - I wouldn't necessarily call those cheapshots as much as I'd call it Minnesota players being a bunch of idiots.

Maybe Leonard Johnson and Jeron Johnson are related.

How could this have not made their list from a couple of years ago?

Gene Smith, 1993-2000. 7 years, 6 NCAA's, 1 bowl game. Revenue sports postseason participation 50%. Good.
    Bruce Vandevelde, 2000-20005. 5 years, 4 bowl games, 2 NCAA's, 2 NIT's. Postseason participation 80%. Better.
    Jamie Pollard, 2005-. 4 years. 1 bowl game, 0 NCAA's, 0 NIT's. Postseason participation: 13%. The next big step.

My ignore list: splitidentity, tarheelhawk, superdorf, clones_jer. That is all.

My cheap shot of the year was the entire Oklahoma defense on Percy Harvin... I don't think the Sooners attempted one tackle above Harvin's ankles. And then of course you have Nic Harris pulling Harvin's ankle.
