Something interesting about this years recruiting class

So far for 2009's football recruiting class we have 1 four star recruit (Money Reynolds) 8 three star recruits, 11 two star recruits and 1 0 star recruit according to the rankings on Rivals.com. Last year's class under Chizik had 1 four star recruit, 7 three star recruits, and 17 two star recruits. This surprised me because I assumed that this recruiting class would just be a waste considering Rhoads got such a late start. The staff has done a tremendous job headed by Scott Fountain of keeping this class together. According to rivals at least, this class could be ranked higher than Chizik's last class.

You notice how we keep getting coaches that are hard to spell there name the correct way. I am guilty of it just as bad as anyone.

Chizik, Chizick and about 2 other ways
Rhodes, Roads, Rhoads and a couple other ways
    Eustacy, Eustachy, Eustachey
    McCdermmott, Mcdermott, Mcdermmot
    Mcartney, McCarny, McCarney

The pleasant surprise for me was Aaron Moore. We desperately need better athletes on the OL, not to mention a future center, and he could fit both roles.

Of course, we might find that a lot of these guys have qualifying issues. t was what, four last year? And all but one made it in?

I wouldn't give up on Moore as a possible DE just yet. He played both ways and looks like he would be a decent strongside end. From what I could find I don't think he's ever played a snap at center in his career, but I could be wrong about that. At around a 4.8 40 or so, he has decent enough speed for the SDE spot, IMO.

I am concerned about how many do not end up qualifying. I hope zero, but it is possible several may never make it to campus.

Used to be somewhat the norm in the DannyMac days. Chiz did better making sure the guys were qualified for the most part.

You can give a lot of credit to MacF for not acting like the lame duck coach that he was in between Chizik ditching and the hiring of Rhoads. He had no reason to be the bridge he was, considering he knew he likely wasn't sticking around, yet he kept the ship from sinking during the time it didn't have a rudder. Good job on him.

Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this.

Tell JP you want him to hire John Doe next time.

At least we will be able to get rid of him easier, because no one will know who he is.

Wait, don't we already have him?

True, but with Cleyon Laing and Taylor Martin, not to mention the possibility of Hammershmidt switching, we at least have bodies (and athleticism) there. Center is like a gaping hole, not only if Knapp doesn't come back. Then there's that whole "athleticism" thing with Alvarez--who will also be a junior. Who knows, maybe Hayworth Hicks will play there. All the center candidates I see (including Lamaak) will be juniors this Fall.

What I would pay to see both of them coaching at ISU at the same time.

John Doe wouldn't be a coaching candidate. He's dead.
