The grass isn't greener over at Creighton

Dana Altman has incredible talent on that Creighton team, yet they manage to underachieve lately. For example, while we beat UNI easily on their floor, Creighton lost to UNI in Omaha. They also lost a home game to Drake with a bigger margin than us. I think is not at all inconceivable that we could beat Creighton in Omaha, were we to play them now.

I am starting to wonder if, since Dana Altman and McDermott have similar coaching styles, this might be causing both coaches similar problems in getting the most out of talent.

    Haha...

Creighton is having a down year, but ISU is having a down decade.

I've spent quite a bit of time around both programs and currently, there is no comparison= Creighton is a better team and program. Furthermore, Altman is hands down a better coach than Mac. I can't even believe you are questioning Altman's coaching abilities.

Re: The grass isn't greener over at Creighton

Creighton played even with a bad Indiana State team for about 35 minutes last night in Omaha. If Creighton has underachieved all year, they're not as talented as everyone thinks. Altman has somehow assembled a roster of almost nothing but shooting guards, and P'Allen is a team cancer. At this point it looks like a good thing that P'Allen never came to ISU. It's also a good thing ISU didn't go after Altman after Morgan left.

The grass IS greener over a Creighton. I remember all of their big wins, and none of their losses. See.....much greener.

The fact that we're even comparing ourselves to Creighton sickens me.

Is this one of those "we should feel better because someone else sucks more than we do" threads?

Both coaches are too nice and do not know how to kick butt when needed. Dana has pleaded all year and he cannot get the aggression going that is needed for his team. He lucked out last night against lowly Indiana State.

Sagarin would say Creighton is the better team.

Somebody should make a sign that says "Creighton is struggling too!" for the next game. Great rallying cry.

ameshammer and seattleclone, you make me sick.

Get off your high horse and recognize a good program when you see one. Do you know why I hate Hawkeye fans? Because they act they are better than us because they were born. Don't become an pompous elitist like them.

Re: The grass isn't greener over at Creighton

My goodness, Creighton is not a better program than ISU and it isn't even close. Just because a team is slightly above average for a few years (Creighton) and a team is below average for a few years (ISU) doesn't make CU a better program. A program is bigger than recent success/failures. That would be like saying iowa has a better program than Indiana because Indiana has sucked lately.
