    CB = HB?

A lot has been made about Brackins possibly going pro. Does anyone else think that hurts our chances of getting HB? He has said before he would like to play with DG and Brackins for a year and yesterday at the game people have said they saw him cheering when Brackins hit one of his threes. Could Craig Brackins be the biggest key in our recruiting of HB?

    Re: CB = HB?

No. Brackins isn't going to be here as a senior and never really was so it has never been part of HB decision.

What may hurt though is the fact that Brackins supporting cast stinks and HB doesn't want to go through what Brackins currently is going through

    Clearly this is the case.

    Re: CB = HB?

Like stated above, I doubt HB ever counted on CB being here as a Senior. HB will most likely have a better suppporting cast than CB

    Re: CB = HB?

So many people say that CB is too good not to go pro next year or the next. We will see what happens. He may stay around if HB comes.

    Re: CB = HB?

I read a story on espn.com about Brandon Jennings who bypassed the college first rule in the United States to go play overseas. I guess he has had a terrible experience with not getting paid on time, not playing, etc. He had some legitimate points. The point I'm trying to make is that Brackins would be a borderline pick in the Draft given the talent at SF/PF position that are eligible for the draft. This would mean that his best bet would be to play overseas but most teams in Europe only allow so many American players to be on rosters (many teams only allow 2). He needs to stay in school, hit the weights, and be a cyclone.

    Re: CB = HB?

It has been nice to hear that Jennings isnt' having such a great time over there. If he proved that his route was a viable legitimate option, I think it may have proved to be a popular one.
Personally I think it is a dumb one!

    Re: CB = HB?

I've been thinking about this too. Players want to win. If Brackins is around (even if it is only for one year) Iowa State is more likely to win. I don't think Barnes decision is contingent on it but if he stays, it couldn't hurt anything.

    Re: CB = HB?

Actually, I think CB making it to the pros and being a top pick helps get HB. He sees that if you succeed in Ames, it will be recognized nationwide. Also, he knows that if you do something special in Ames, you will be remembered forever. It is a bigger deal succeeding in Ames than it is in Lawrence, or Chapel Hill. Some people relish the bigger challenges.

    Re: CB = HB?

I'd support Brackins going pro if he feels it's what's best for him. Hopefully he's enjoying his college years and hopes to get the most out of them though. He's got so many fans here... and sure I'll be a huge fan of his if he goes pro... but I just don't watch pro basketball in general.

People need to stop saying their thoughts as if they were facts.

No one really knows what HB is going to do. Nor CB.

OK. Never said I knew what was in his head? I said it MAY be bad b/c he saw what Craig with through with a poor supporting cast.

The other is fact! CB was never going to be around here until his senior year and HB knows that. It doesn't have anything to do w/ his decision.
