Ya its going to be a stressful time when his contract comes to an end. I would find it hard to be a card fan if he went for more money elsewhere. But i hope/think that he loves stl enough to stay despite less money.

Skippy stays too and plays with Dunc until Rasmus is ready. Mather is the wild card. If his spring training is great then one could be expendable, but I have a feeling that Barton and Rasmus will start at Memphis and the other 6are our two deep in the bigs with each seeing playing time weekly.

The only place Pujols goes is KC when, and this will be a long time away, he can no longer play in the field. He loves St. Louis and has family up the road.

Ya ras needs to prove himself in AAA a little bit first. He only batted like 230 last year, although he was hurt.

I think he'll be a great player, but he hasn't proved it yet and unless to totally rips up Spring Training, he'll start in Memphis.

The great thing about STL is they have a wonderful farm league. I guess they can afford to be OK to good while not making any major moves. I just think if they could make a big move or two they would be back in World Series contention. Everyone else around them tired to better themselves via trade or free agency and they just sit and wait for prospects to develop.

I hope your right! How big of a contract do you think he will get with us? The guy deserves a much bigger contract than teixara. I think it needs to be at least 25 mill a year.

This may be true to an extent, but it's no longer worth it having to trade away half your farm team to get one guy for usually one year at a bloated salary to win it. Think where we would be if we still had Haren, among others. Remember him, the guy now contending yealry for Cy Young awards.

Just like ISU basketball, we need to let the young guys develop.

i have been dissappointed this offseason...the only move we have made is to get Greene, we could use another SP and good bat in the lineup.

As much as I am an ISU fan STL and ISU are nothing alike. ISU can recruit a small pool of players really. STL can pay money for players. Now there is a thought. What if you could trade college players? haha jk See STL can do things to change their personal midseason/offseason and ISU can't.

    Re: St. Louis Cards fans...

I think the offense will be fine. Greene was a great add. The guy was an all-star a couple of years ago and is still relatively young. Plus he played in Petco the abyss of a field letting pitchers like Maddox get a few more years. I think his bat will explode this year.
