    TV broke ... any ideas

I have a rear projection Mitsubishi tv that is acting up on me. It usually does this when you 1st turn the tv on but then goes away but will come back after awhile and then go away again. Any ideas of what is going out on it?

Re: TV broke ... any ideas

This happened to our tv too and then finally after about 4 months the screen just went out on us. My dad looked into it and it was gonna cost like 500 dollars. Same thing happened to the girlfriends tv too....both were mittsibishi rear projection tvs. i would advise you to go the same rout we did and we got a new 60 inch samsung lcd tv. not worth putting alot of money into something when you can just get something new.

Re: TV broke ... any ideas

After reading some articles/forums on this subject it might be that I have a bad solder in the convergance board. Basically they say to fix it sooner then later because if you wait to long then you have to replace the whole board. I will probably go over to Stogdills tomorrow and see what they think it will cost to fix.

As the picture seems to rise to be compressed in the middle of the screen, I would put to clamps on each side of the television and tighten until the screen is compressed on equal amount as in the mid section. Or go to Stogdill's.
