    Off-campus apartments?

Just wondering if anyone knows of some decently priced 2-bedroom apartments from good companies, preferably in the campustown or somerset areas.

Have looked at Cranford (above Jeffs Pizza) and one on Lynn that was a bit higher priced, looking to see what you guys have for experience. 2-BR is tricky to find in the college area...

There used to be some at the end of Hunt St that were decent priced. I think they may have been 3 BR though. I think your looking for Cheap Apartments in the wrong parts of town. When I was there the West Side was much cheaper.

    Re: Off-campus apartments?

i know it's a long shot but the Cranford ones are like $300-$350/person/month, not bad for campustown. we've both got jobs in the campus area that require hours before/after the buses are running and we dont want to hassle w/ parking on campus or in campustown unless its in our apt lot.

    Re: Off-campus apartments?

I used to live in the apartments on Hillcrest just West of campus. It was on the corner of Hillcrest and West St, so it was nice and close. Plus you get to chat with Monty after every trip to campus. Those were 3 bedroom and we paid something like $260 a piece, and only had to pay for electricity. Cable, internet, water (even heated) was all included. I know there were some 2 bedrooms in the building next to those, but I think they were a bit more expensive. I was sad to have to move out of there.

I live in somerset right now. The prices are very good for me and my roomates. 298 per month with only paying for electric which is around 15 per month, so its like 310 per month total, which is very good for me

I would probably recommend that you change that, and make your way over to West Street Deli (just down the street from Monty's). Good stuff

Never went there but if I remember correctly, that's where Johnny Orr used to get his hair cut. I heard stories that he would come in and start rattling off dirty jokes one after another.

Ev Cochrane Jr. managed (four years ago) the apartments on Chamberlain above...the Thai food place. Across from the fire station. I rented a 2 BR by myself, it wasn't bad and Ev was cool, not like his dad.

    Re: Off-campus apartments?

You will be hard pressed to find anything 2BR under 300-350 in the campustown area. Just from what ive heard a 2 Br in campus town will run you 350-400 for rent alone. But that is apts idk what it would be if you just found say 2 BR's in a multi room house in the area

Yeah. I never asked why or how, but most, if not all, of the ISU coaches seem to get their hair cuts at Monty's. He's full of some pretty good stories.
